WCI Europe Board Members’ take part in 10th MBRF Knowledge Summit, Dubai

World Capital Institute Panel on Knowledge Strategies for Sustainable Communities

The panel focused across the three pillars for sustainable communities: economic; social and environmental.
It opened with an overview from Hannes Matt regarding the current risks we face, across all three pillars of economic, social and environmental and the challenge of turning knowledge into action.
The second contribution was from Eliut Flores focusing on knowledge management and knowledge based economic developments drawing on examples from the medical industries of Puerto Rico and the challenges faced in growing new and successful businesses such as access to capital, talent and entrepreneurship.
The final contribution was be made by Blanca Garcia who focused on knowledge- based approaches to building inclusive community engaged approaches to address active challenges such as water management in times of erratic climate matters where water scarcity and floods can each present threats to sustainability of communities.
The panel was introduced and moderated by Cathy Garner, WCI
President
illustrating how policy and practice working together can develop vibrant and sustainable communities in urban areas.
