Aims of Event

Historic Milestone

COP30 in Belém do Pará, Brazil (November 2025) represents a historic opportunity for Latin America and the Global South, offering visibility to climate agendas rooted in the Amazon region and focused on just transitions.

 

Urgent Need

In the face of an accelerating climate crisis, it is essential to promote accessible and scientifically grounded spaces for an open dialogue on future challenges and opportunities.
This joint event consists of an online side event with thematic panels bringing together international experts to explore key themes related to climate change, emerging technologies, urban risk and adaptation, engaging the academic community and society at large.

COP30 Thematic Days Overview

The COP30 presidency has released the calendar of Thematic Days for the UN Conference on Climate Change (Belém, November 10-21, 2025). The program features over 30 interconnected themes to promote climate solutions implementation and global inclusion.
According to Ambassador André Corrêa do Lago, president- designate of COP30, the Thematic Days connect negotiations to real impact, promoting urgent climate action across six axes of the COP30 Action Agenda.
